Hi Everyone,
The time has finally arrived… I NEED A KIDNEY. Have a Spare to Share??! #Transplant4Tasha
If so, please see this link to get started: https://intermountain.donorscreen.org/register/now

Over the years, I have shared countless stories and requests of fellow Kidney Warriors bravely standing up and asking for help. Now, it’s MY TURN to put my faith in others, to share my story, and to ask a gracious soul to provide me with a LIFE SAVING GIFT!
I am a Wife, a Dog Mom, a Daughter, a Sister, an Aunt, a Friend, a Scientist, and an Advocate, among many other titles. Today I am also a KIDNEY WARRIOR and I am now embarking on my ultimate test, Kidney Transplantation.

I inherited Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) from my dad and was diagnosed when I was 4 years old. Throughout the years, my kidneys have developed innumerable cysts, which have caused them to increase drastically in size, while simultaneously decreasing in function. I have always been proactive, participating in various studies and trialing our only treatment option for 3 years, yet, I have continued to decline in health because there is no cure. I have experienced the pain and bleeding accompanied by ruptured cysts, sleepless nights from lack of finding comfortable positions, and the lethargy and exhaustion of simply not functioning properly. I receive monthly injections to help increase my red blood cell counts due to anemia and am now having to eat smaller, more frequent meals to help my nausea, lack of appetite, and abdominal fullness due to my kidneys’ sizes. I am currently in Stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease, on the edge of complete kidney failure, and will soon be required to receive a new kidney or be hooked up to a machine to live.
I am in the process of getting listed for a kidney transplant with Intermountain Medical Center near Salt Lake City, Utah! I have undergone multiple blood tests, and imaging studies, and have had the privilege of meeting my care team. I am now at the part where I am looking for a new kidney ๐ There are 74,000+ people in the country waiting to receive deceased donor kidneys currently, and the average wait time at my center is over 2 years.
However, if I can find a LIVING DONOR, I can hopefully avoid dialysis, get a transplant much sooner, and get back to feeling like a healthy 35-year-old! Receiving a living donor kidney will allow me to have the best chance at a long and healthier life, while hopefully only undergoing this process once! I can have the energy to run around with my dogs and be active again, I can continue to travel the world and work on house projects with my husband, and I can simply enjoy quality time with family and friends in this beautiful thing called life!
Today’s medical advances are amazing in that even if a potential donor is not an ideal match for me, they can donate on my behalf to someone else in need. That incredible act of selflessness then guarantees me the best kidney match possible from another person doing the same thing (Paired Donation)!
PLEASE help me find a kidney!! Below, and above, is a link to my Transplant Center. I’d appreciate it if you could share this and #Transplant4Tasha with as many people as you can! If YOU or ANYONE you know are interested in donating, please fill out the form in the link to start the process. The more donors are interested, the better chance I have of receiving a new kidney!! The cost to donate is almost nothing to you, but LIFE SAVING for me!

If you have ANY questions at all about my disease, the living donor process, and/or what’s ahead for me, PLEASE ASK!! I’m very passionate about spreading awareness about PKD and organ donation, so love to share all I know!

Thank you in advance for your support and kindness during this LIFE SAVING journey of mine!!
